PARAÑAQUE CITY, 26 July 2020 – Seven (7) DFA Office of Consular Affairs employees were given recognition by the Department for going above and beyond their duties and responsibilities during the COVID-19 national public emergency.
Given plaques of commendation by DFA Undersecretary for Administration J. Eduardo Malaya were Leandro Luiz Manantan, Jefferson Jucar, Michael Ocampo, Lynn Pablo-Rivamonte, PJ Alexander Seguis, Rouzdy Sultan and Steve Mark de Guzman of the Passport Division.
A lady passport applicant came to the Consular Affairs office in the early weeks of the pandemic, and was pleasantly surprised to see the office open. She was assisted by the above personnel. Impressed with the service she received, she sent an email to the Civil Service Commission's Contact Center commending the seven personnel.
The plaques of commendation cited “their exemplary service to passport applicants during the COVID-19 national public emergency and their professionalism and deep commitment to public service, which exemplify the best traditions of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Philippine Foreign Service.”
Expressing appreciation on behalf of Secretary of Foreign Affairs Teodoro Locsin, Jr., Undersecretary Malaya said “it is important not only to do well in one’s job but to do so when no one is watching.” He further stated that the dedication and commitment to public service of the seven contributes to the achievement of the overall mission and vision of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
